best snowblowers
Once you trade your shovel for one of the best snowblowers, you will never want to go back. Discover the models that stand out on the market for their performance, design, and reliability to make life easier during the cold season.
The best snowblowers are not necessarily the biggest. The area to clear, the amount of snowfall, the space you have, and ease of handling matter just as much. The Willbe YT624, YS1028, and YT1332 cover several needs in the Greater Québec area.
Best tracked snowblowers
Willbe YS1028
Technical specifications
The YS1028 is powered by a 296cc four-stroke engine producing a maximum net output of 9.4 PS. Its hydrostatic transmission drives two rubber tracks, and it features electric starting.
Performance
This two-stage snowblower combines a 715 mm clearing width with a 501 mm intake height. Its mid-size format suits those who want more capacity than a small unit without moving straight to the YT1332's larger footprint.
Snow clearing capacity
Willbe states a maximum capacity of 60 tons per hour and a throw distance of up to 17 metres.
Price
The 2026 Willbe YS1028 is listed at $6,299* in our inventory.
Willbe YT1332
Technical specifications
The YT1332 is powered by a 358cc four-stroke engine producing a maximum net output of 11.8 PS. It features a hydrostatic transmission with a sub-transmission and 180 mm rubber tracks.
Performance
Its size makes it the largest of the three. Clearing width reaches 815 mm and intake height is 570 mm, which suits large driveways and heavy accumulations.
Snow clearing capacity
Willbe states up to 76 tons per hour and a maximum throw distance of 19 metres.
Price
The 2026 YT1332 is currently listed at $7,699* in our inventory.
Best gas snowblowers
Willbe YS1028
The YS1028 is also a relevant choice if you are looking for the best gas snowblower for a good-size driveway. The 296cc engine runs on unleaded gasoline and the tank holds 6.7 L.
A good balance of width, capacity, and overall dimensions makes it less bulky than the YT1332, while offering significantly higher clearing capacity than the YT624.
Best value snowblowers
Willbe YT624
Technical specifications
The YT624 is the most compact of the three. The 171cc four-stroke engine delivers a maximum net output of 4.8 PS. It features a hydrostatic transmission, tracks, and both electric and manual starting.
Performance
With a 615 mm width and a weight of 240 lb. (109 kg), this compact snowblower is particularly suitable when storage space and manoeuvrability matter.
Snow clearing capacity
It can move up to 35 tons per hour and throw it up to 15 metres. Intake height reaches 440 mm.
Price
At $4,794* in our SM Sport inventory, the YT624 is the most accessible Willbe model among the three presented. Special offers also let you check whether a snowblower on special is available at the time of purchase.
Best small snowblowers
Willbe YT624
The YT624 is especially well suited to more compact residential driveways. A 615 mm width allows work in narrower passages, while its tracks provide good traction.
To determine which is the best snowblower for your property, also consider how often you get heavy accumulations. A YT624 favours a compact format, whereas a YS1028 or a YT1332 reduces the number of passes on a larger surface.
Yamaha no longer builds snowblowers: Willbe takes over
Yamaha has ceased production of its snowblowers after transferring this activity to Willbe. Some Yamaha snowblowers may still be offered in limited quantities at dealerships, but the new products from this activity are now marketed by Willbe, notably under the Earth POWER brand.
Willbe confirms it has officially taken over Yamaha's motorized product activity, including snowblowers. For the Canadian market, its catalogue includes the YT624, YS1028, and YT1332. SM Sport already lists several 2026 Willbe units of these three models.
Best time to buy a snowblower
Buying before the first big storms generally gives you a wider choice of models. Waiting for a promotion can lower the price, but the most sought-after units can also become less available in mid-season.
Before buying, check:
- The width required for your driveway
- The capacity suited to your typical accumulations
- The storage space available
To reduce the upfront cost, you can also consider financing options depending on the model you choose.
